The bearing we are using is a Hard Stainless / Ceramic Hybrid Bearing the same that is used in advanced super chargers / Turbos. 

This bearing won't rust and is electrically isolated because the Ball Bearings are made of a super hard non conductive ceramic, Tesla Motors also utilizes this style of bearings to help isolate current potential internally to prevent the break down of the Ball Bearings and races. 

These bearing are also fitted with a special long lasting Urea Grease that is designed to last lifetime. 

The shaft seal we made out of Viton a Dupont Formulated material this material is used in most high heat and or in hard chemical environments. 

Viton has a working life of about 30 Years and is know for being extremely resilient to Fuels, Acids, Uvs, Heat etc.

At Five Star Marine we take big steps in killing the endless cycle of planned obsolesce in a day where new engines are built to last only 10 years before failures we decided to go the other direction and find and help develop new methods of solving age old problems in Marine Applications. 

Its hard enough owning a inboard and having a true and reliable water pump is a necessity and will help protect you're investment and keep you're motor from failing on you when you need it most. 

Water pumps are a normal service item but these bearings and seals we believe should last and with the testing we have done we believe will give a working life of 20-30 years in a salt water application.
